It's been a while...
Hello everyone!
I know that it has been quite a while since I posted. I know that I mentioned my intentions on updating this after coming back from all of my study abroad opportunities. Well, as a college student you know that time is scarce. Honestly, I cannot fathom the fact that this school year is almost over. In this post, I will try to update you just a bit on what happened after those couple of weeks that I already talked about in Madrid.
The last thing that I had talked about was my birthday week and the week after. So now I have the pleasure of talking about Toledo. Toledo is wonderful place in terms of the history and the area in which it is located. This is one of the (if only) places where three very well-known cultures were able to live together peacefully, if only for a moment. We had to get up early in the morning to get there because we were taking a bus, and although I lived close to the center, it wasn't as close as other people. Unfortunately by this time one of my better friends on the program had the reputation of getting there late. Needless to say, she missed the bus and had to get there by herself. What a brave girl she is I tell you. As for roommates, we had the same ones we had from when we were in Galicia.
The city itself is quite amazing. However, I will say that it was not my most favorite place in Spain. Humberto had a reason for loving Madrid, and I think until that point, I was still unsure as to why. Frankly, although Toledo offered some wonderful opportunities, it was more geared towards tourists, and well, that is just not my thing.
We got to visit many monuments- cathedrals, mosques, and synagogues. They had a wonderful piece of jewelery that I was able to give to a couple of people. But I must stop now as I still have some important work to do.
Trust me, the story does not end here- though there may be a short break from Madrid for a while as you will hear that I will be traveling once more. Until very soon!
